Stretching alongside Peljesac Channel, which separates mainland Croatia from Korcula Island, the peninsula boasts a fertile landscape that produces high quality wine, salt and seafood.
You will visit the coastal town of Ston to see the so-called great Wall of Croatia and an old salt factory, and then check out family-run wineries or perhaps a coastal fish farm.
After roughly an hour on the road, arrive in Ston and stretch your legs on a walking tour of the pretty coastal town. Pose for pictures by the so-called Great Wall of Croatia – Ston’s major claim to fame – and hear how it is said to be one of the world’s largest fortified city walls. You will se oysters and mussels farm and be able to try them on your wish.
The Peljesac area is rich in natural resources, with salt and wine lauded as the peninsula’s biggest exports, so visit the town’s old salt factory and hear tales about the pure salt harvest.
After break in Ston we are going further inside od peninsula to visit few family-run wineries. You will be able to try Plavac mali (most famous sort of grape) and other local grapes which are one of the best wines in this part of Europe. Grgic, Matusko, Madirazza wineries are just beginning of our tour.
Start of this private tour can be in the morning or early afternoon so you can take a lunch in Ston to try traditional sea food in famous restorans. After exploring the region and sampling its fine produce, we will travel back to Dubrovnik.
