General information
Croatia is a hunters paradise, abundant with game typical
of central and south-eastern Europe. Of particular interest is the lowland
deer that can be found in the hunting grounds along the Sava river. September
is the main hunting season for deer. Other types of game found in Croatia,
which are of particular interest to hunters from abroad, are bear (south-western
Croatia), chamois, lynx, and numerous types of small game such as hare,
fox, waterfowl, etc.

Information's on specific hunting grounds is best obtained
from the local hunting clubs. The local hunting clubs will assist you
with specific data, helping you to better plan your hunting trip.
Dubrovnik Region and Biokovo also offer good hunting,
mainly consisting of small game. The mountains of Pelješac peninsula
and the mountain Biokovo above Makarska offer the rare opportunity to
hunt for Mouflon. The hunting grounds mostly consist of highland and mountain
areas. Local hunting clubs organize and assist in hunting trips for tourists.
