ENTERING CROATIA BY BOAT

On arrival in Croatian waters, the yacht must take the shortest route to Port of Entry and wait for the officials to come to the yacht for clearance. In marinas, the staff will call the relevant officials. The skipper of a vessel entering the Republic of Croatia by sea is required to sail, by the shortest route, into the nearest designated port of entry for passport control, and must do the following:
1. Go through border control;
2. Have the crew and passenger list endorsed by a port authority main or subsidiary office;
3. Pay the navigation safety fees;
4. Pay the sojourn tax;
5. Report the presence of foreign citizens on the vessel, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations

 

DOCUMENTS TO BE KEPT ON BOARD
Any vessel sailing in Croatian waters must be able to show, for the purposes of control, the following original documents:
1. Proof of payment for all the fees and taxes levied;
2. Proof of the vessel's seaworthiness;
3. Proof of the skipper's competence to operate the vessel, in accordance with the regulations of the vessel's flag country or Croatian regulations;
4. Proof of third party insurance ;
5. Proof of ownership or a letter of authorisation to use the vessel.

MARITIME SAFETY INFORMATION (MSI)

Maritime Safety Information (MSI) including navigational warnings, weather reports, search and rescue reports and other urgent information about safety of navigation are transmitted in English and Croatian language from 3 coast radio stations through VHF system and from coast radio station Split Radio in English language by through Navtex system.

Rijeka Radio VHF Channel 24 at 05.35, 14.35 and 19.35

Split Radio VHF Channels 21, 23, 07 and 28 at 05.45, 12.45 and 19.45

Dubrovnik Radio VHF Channels 04 and 07 at 06.25, 13.20 and 21.20

The coastal radio stations operate 24 hours a day on following VHF channels:

Rijeka Radio (9AR) channels 16, 24, 20 4

Split Radio (9AS) channels 16, 21, 23, 07, 70, 81

Dubrovnik Radio (9AD) channels 16, 07, 24.

Harbormaster’s offices can usually be contacted on VHF Channel 10, while marinas can be contacted on Channel 17.
